Gov’t issues visas to Eucon students

THE Division of Immigration has finally approved the visa application of six nursing students of Eucon International College.

Immigration Director Antonio Sablan said his office evaluated the applications of the students and found that they met the necessary requirements.

“We accepted their applications after an evaluation,” Sablan told Variety.

The students from China were each given a one-year student visa.

In an earlier interview, the students said their passports had been with Immigration since their arrival in Aug. 2001.

Sablan said his office would review the students’ visas after seven months in view of the seven-month provisional license issued by the State Board of Regents to Eucon recently.

Immigration said it will release the passports of the students this week.

“They’ll get their documents beginning this week,” Sablan said.

The regents earlier revoked the nine-month provisional license of Eucon, but recently granted the college a seven-month license.

Late last year, Immigration issued visas to three former nursing students of Eucon who transferred to Northern Marianas College.
