Danger

I WANT to call your attention, as well as that of government and private health providers, to the danger that we will soon be facing with the solar eclipse on the morning of June 11.

I am dismayed that there seems to be no efforts from the media, the hospital or the eye clinics to warn people of the serious eye damage and permanent blindness that can result from looking at a solar eclipse. It is criminal that no warnings are being given and that there are no instructions for the safe viewing of the eclipse. Some of my more jaded friends are even suggesting that the clinics may be looking forward to increased business by keeping quiet.TEHANI KIRBY
