BOOKINGS among Japanese couples this spring is expected to return to its normal level as the market recovers from the effects of the terrorist attacks in the U.S., the latest survey of Japan Travel Bureau Corp. showed.
“(As) a result of the positive effect on numbers of the reevaluation of domestic honeymoons that followed the multiple terrorist attacks, the total number of bookings has recovered to a more typical level at 100.5 percent of the previous year,” JTB said in a report.
The survey covered couples on their honeymoons who have booked with JTB’s main offices in Tokyo, Nagoya and Osaka.
According to the JTB data, majority of Japanese couples prefer Hawaii, Australia and Europe, in that order. They also like visiting certain parts of North America, Guam, Saipan, Oceania, Asia and China.
