KOROR (Palau Horizon) — The Ministry of State has asked the national government to provide a vessel that would ship relief goods to Yap which was severely hit by typhoon Mitag last month.
According to State Minister Temmy Shmull, the ministry has to transport the relief goods before April 24 so that Yap’s state government could distribute them to other outlying areas devastated by the typhoon.
Aside from in-kind relief, Shmull said the ministry was able to generate around $2,000 in cash contributions.
“It is not much but it is going to be a big help for the people who were affected by the typhoon,” he said.
