SUVA (Radio Fiji/PINA) — Yet another Pacific islands airline has announced new services to Japan. Fiji’s Air Pacific is this week launching a third weekly flight return from Nadi to Tokyo’s Narita airport.
The announcement comes soon after Papua New Guinea’s Air Niugini began direct services from Port Moresby to Narita and French Polynesia’s Air Tahiti started a third weekly Papeete-Japan flight.
Air Pacific has invited Prime Minister Laisenia Qarase to travel on its new service.
The prime minister has accepted the invitation in recognition of government’s support for Fiji’s international airline as well as the thriving tourism industry.
The latest tourist arrival figures from Japan were 1,939 for January and 1,769 in February. Fiji Visitors Bureau and Air Pacific are working to further increase this.
