Workers’ transfer request granted

AFTER waiting for more than a year, two alien workers finally found regular employment.

Based on labor documents, the service station where workers Mylene B. Layao and Regordo Barit used to work closed down on March 1, 2001.

This time, Phillip Mendiola-Long, president of Tinian Fuel Services, wants to hire Layao as supervisor and Barit as lube bay attendant and tire repairman.

Hearing Officer Jerry Cody did not object to the transfer request. The workers were not at fault in the matter that gave rise to their labor complaint and should be eligible for transfer, he said.

“Based on the evidence, presented, I find that neither of the two non-resident complainants were at fault in this matter,” he said.
