HANA Football Club notched their second win of the season by edging Matansa Football Club, 2-1, in the Marianas Soccer League 2 at the NMI Soccer Training Center in Koblerville on Friday.

Both teams started as equals and filled the first 20 minutes of the opening half with several exchanges.

The momentum gradually shifted toward Hana FC as their defense created several offensive opportunities. At the 28th minute mark, the team weaved their way through traffic to find Dong Ik Jang, who delivered a goal for a 1-0 lead.

But Matansa FC managed to turn the tide with Imtiaz Nadim finding the back of the net to even the score, 1-1.

A back-and-forth battle ensued with both teams executing shot attempts. Eventually, Hana FC’s continuous pressure overwhelmed Matansa FC, and this time it was Scott Kim who delivered the blow at the 39th minute mark to regain the upper hand, 2-1.

Matansa FC fought hard to tie the game, but they could not find the back of the net, and had to settle for defeat.
