AN intoxicated man was arrested for allegedly trying to steal canned goods from a store in Susupe and for threatening to kill with a knife two employees of the establishment. Jack Kadiasang Arurang, 38, was held for resisting arrest and assault with a dangerous weapon, according to the Department of Public Safety.
DPS spokesman Pete C. Muna said Arurang, while at Wonderful Market, was seen taking 12 cans of beer and a can of sardines.
Arurang handed $10 to pay the beer. The manager asked him about the can of sardines, but Arurang denied taking the item. The manager and her assistant insisted that they saw the canned goods in his pants.
The suspect then allegedly returned the sardines to the shelf.
After paying the beer, Arurang allegedly pulled out a small knife and told the manager and her assistant that he would kill them if they “touch him.”
Police officers arrived and arrested the suspect.
