ON Tuesday, the U.S. Naval Forces Marianas Public Affairs Office on Guam will bid adieu to its commander, Lt. Monica Richardson, and formally welcome her successor.
Ending her two-year and a half tour of duty, Richardson will move to Gaeta, a resort city in Italy.
Richardson, whose family is based in Spain, will be the deputy public affairs officer for the Navy’s 7th Fleet.
The Navy’s new spokeswoman in the Marianas is Lt. Thurraya Kent. “I am very excited. This is a great opportunity for me in a great location,” Kent told Variety.
Kent will serve as commander of the U.S. Naval Forces Marianas Public Affairs Office for two years. She arrived on Guam this month.
