NOUMEA (Oceania Flash) — The town of Dumbea has again organized its increasingly famous giant omelet contest, according to RFO’s Tele Nouvelle-Caledonie.
The event has become a trademark on the French territory’s calendar and is drawing growing attention from the neighboring countries.
This year, Vanuatu’s capital Port Vila Lord Mayor Patrick Crowby was the special guest.
Answering questions from the media about a possible re-make of the giant omelet in Vanuatu, he suggested it could happen, but in a version adapted to Vanuatu’s national dish, the famous hot stones-cooked lap-lap.
