PALIKIR, Pohnpei (KVB/FSMIS) — Kosrae is observing its 3rd Educational Awareness Week, according to the Kosrae Visitors Bureau.
The Education Awareness Week highlights a series of events ranging from cultural presentations to debates and sports competitions.
The culmination of the week will be the awarding ceremonies at the Kosrae Sports Complex.
Day 1 was Monday. The opening ceremony was from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m.. Then a high school debate competition followed free lunch. After the debate competition, there were cultural presentations by all six schools on Kosrae.
Day 2 was Tuesday. There were fun and games day each own school.
Day 3 is today. There will be a speech competition and school/vocational/cultural show from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. The awards for the previous two days will be presented after lunch. Venue will be at the Kosrae Sports Complex.
Day 4 is Thursday. It will be the final competition for Kosrae elementary and secondary schools. The 100-meter race, the 200-meter race, the 60-meter race other field games are scheduled from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with an half hour break for lunch. The games, which will be held at the Kosrae Sports Complex, will continue next day. Many vendors and concessions stands will be set up around the premises.
Day 5 is Friday. The track and field competition finals continue The unfinished events will be completed on this day including the awarding ceremony from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
