EDUCATION officials and KMCV may co-produce a 30-minute talk show about schools and students.
According to Board of Education Chairman Herman T. Guerrero, they are still in the “developmental stage,” but he is optimistic that their deal with KMCV will push through within the year.
He said the program will be a good forum for parents and other interested people in the community to voice out their opinions or concerns about education.
“We’re looking at it perhaps as an opportunity for the public to find out a little bit what is going on at (the Public School System). If they have some concerns, they can call in,” Guerrero said.
“We need to inform the public about what we’re doing. It would also be a vehicle to bring to our attention anything that they want us to know. We’re trying to be open to the general public,” he added.
There are currently over 10,000 students enrolled in various public schools and approximately 3,000 are in private schools.
