MP United Football Club is off to a strong start in the U14 boys division of the 2024 TakeCare Youth Soccer League after vanquishing Latte Football Club, 7-0, at the NMI Soccer Training Center in Koblerville on Saturday.
MPU quickly established dominance thanks to the all-around skills of Taiga Namai-Scoggins. All eyes were on him for the first five minutes of the first half as he scored two consecutive goals to give his team the lead, 2-0.
Latte tried to tweak their defenses to prevent more slip ups but MPU soon regained control of the tempo with Theo Joab and Mateo Angeles joining the highlight reel with a goal each to extend the deficit, 4-0, going into halftime.
While Latte remained stuck in the gutter throughout the second half, MPU’s onslaught continued with Namai-Scoggins picking up where he left off with back-to-back goals to complete the hat-trick while Kanoa Owens added the finishing touch at the 36th minute mark for the easy win, 7-0.
