HAGÅTÑA (The Guam Daily Post) — Eight St. John’s School seniors have been named candidates for the 2024 United States Presidential Scholars Program, the school announced recently in a press release.
The program, established in 1964 by executive order of the president, was made to recognize and honor the nation’s most distinguished graduating high school seniors, the school said in the release.
Among the 4,000 students chosen were eight seniors from St. John’s School: Alexander Clark, Alexa Espaldon, Jacob Jackson, Luke Sang, Hyunjin Kim, Kelvin Lee, Brandon Su and Taiyo Tagami.
The selected students have shown leadership qualities, given service to the school and community and demonstrated academic success through scoring high SAT and ACT college entrance exam scores, as well as demonstrating artistic achievements in the visual, creative or performing arts and achievement in career and technical programs, St. John’s said in the release.
Eight students from St. John’s School were recognized among 4,000 as candidates for the 2024 U.S. Presidential Scholars Program.
