GOVERNOR Arnold I. Palacios last week nominated Star Marianas General Manager Jose Pangelinan “Gurak” Cruz to the Civil Service Commission.

If confirmed by the Senate, Cruz will serve a six-year term representing Tinian on the commission.

In his appointment letter to Cruz, the governor said he and Lt. Gov. David M. Apatang are confident that Cruz is qualified and will be an asset to the commission.

In his letter to Senate President Edith Deleon Guerrero, the governor said he and Apatang are confident that Cruz will contribute productively to the commission and carry out its mandates efficiently.

“We respectfully request your favorable action on this appointment,” Palacios added.

Prior to his employment with Star Marianas, Cruz headed different government departments and agencies on Tinian. His most recent public service position was executive director of the Tinian and Aguiguan Municipal Council.
