THE CNMI Division of Revenue and Taxation has filed a notice of tax lien in federal court against Imperial Pacific International for non-payment of monthly Business Gross Revenue and Employer’s Quarterly taxes for the tax years 2017 to 2021.
The amount of unpaid taxes totaled $7,943,060.39, Revenue and Taxation stated.
Richard F. Santos, the division’s collection and remittance branch manager, said taxes, including interest and penalties, have been assessed against IPI, adding that “demand for payment of this liability has been made, but it remains unpaid.”
“Therefore, there is a lien in favor of the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands on all property and rights to property belonging to the taxpayer for the amount of these taxes and any additional penalties, interest, and costs that may accrue,” Santos added.
