In 2018, the Superior Court granted the request of Nicanor Norita, as administrator of the estate of Visitacion Rangamar Flores, to equally distribute over $5 million to four heirs, one of whom was Antonio.
Norita was arrested last month for refusing to give $1.3 million to Jacinto.
Judge Camacho issued a $100,000 bench warrant for Norita’s arrest after Norita failed to appear for a status conference hearing, even though a subpoena was issued to him.
Norita had sent an illness certification slip from a clinic to excuse him from appearing due to medical reasons.
However, Judge Camacho did not find Norita’s reasons to be truthful, and ordered CNMI Marshals to take Norita into custody and obtain the estate’s bank book.
Asked to explain himself, Norita said that someone had stolen the bank book, and so he had gone to the bank to obtain a new one.
Judge Camacho removed Norita as a signatory for the disbursement of the estate funds, and authorized attorney Vince Torres to go to the bank and have a check issued to Jacinto for his share of the estate funds.
Attorney Torres represented the estate of Antonio R. Flores.
Nieves Soto is now the sole signatory for the disbursement of a savings account for Visitacion’s estate with Bank of Guam.
