RAROTONGA (Pacnews) — A group of people in Ngatangiia in the Cook Islands has voted in favor of freezing development in the district until a committee to screen all business applications is well established. A committee composed of seven representatives from each of the three Ngatangiia villages was elected on Thursday night.
There have been concerns that most of the business ventures being set up in Muri are owned by foreigners and are encroaching on businesses owned by local people.
