With this year’s coronavirus pandemic and the restrictions that came with school openings, many extra-curricular activities have been cancelled. But Scripps came up with a solution that allowed either virtual or in-person competition this school-year.
Each class at GMS, from first to eighth grades, conducted an oral Spelling Bee in class and online, and each class came up with the top three winners. This was so far, the first major school competition held by GMS since the school lockdown in March 2020. The school’s top 24 spellers are now preparing for the school championship to be held next year.

The school principal, Mrs. Milagros Songcuan, did not hesitate to enroll in this year’s Scripps Spelling Bee because she is convinced that enrolling in this prestigious program will help GMS students widen their vocabulary and enhance their spelling skills.
Congratulations Falcons!
