Champ’s gross score of 90 translated to a net 71, giving him a two-stroke victory over 2016 champion Michael “26” Deary (gross 94/net 73) and rookie Glenn “Monty” Bell (gross 92/net 73). Alone in forth place was Juan “Juj” Lizama, who finished three strokes off the lead with a gross score of 88 for a net 74. Rounding out the field and returning scores not suitable for publishing were Richard “Caddy Dipper” Miller, Grant “Slim Jim” Balmer, Timothy “Tex” Brasuell and Wilhelm “Paki” Maui.

Don Dunlop receives the Champion’s Jugge from 2019 co-champs “Juj” Lizama and “Double” Dan Harding.
When asked how he felt about his historic victory, Champ modestly replied: “You know, it seems like at least five competitors played better than me. We’re all champions the way I see it.”
After the competition the club held its post-tournament banquet at the LaoLao Bay Bar and Grille where Champ was presented with the YOSGC Champion’s Jugge and Ugly Yellow Jacket by 2019’s co-champions “Juj” Lizama and “Double” Dan Harding. After the awards ceremony, the YOSGC membership’s conversation, unsurprisingly, turned to the jejune and insipid.
