Agape captures middle school cross country title

The boys of ACS had to stay on their toes, but they triumphed nonetheless. Peter Peng ignited the team’s momentum as the first ACS runner to complete the course at 00:15’08. School-mate Joseph Li was right behind in second place with a time of 00:15’21. 

Danny Cheng, also of ACS, finished fourth, clocking in at 00:15’41 while school-mate Boxin Chen was 11th with a time of 00:18’17 to give ACS the gold in the team competition.

Saipan International School settled for the silver.

SIS’s Casey Chambers finished third by crossing the finish line at 00:15’23. School-mates Dong Hyun Lee was fifth (00:16’07); Christian Newman, seventh (00:16’28); Gyu Hyeon Park, eighth (00:16’46); and Kyle Kramer, ninth (00:17’14).

Getting the bronze was Saipan Community School.

SCS’s Elijah Ye came in sixth place with a finish time of 00:16’24, David Ye was 10th (00:17’47), and Dwight Crisostomo was 12th (00:18’58).

Also participating were Francisco M. Sablan Middle School’s Christian Lucero and Daniel Sano, Mount Carmel School’s June Yu, Tinian Jr. High School’s Bonny Gonzales and Abiel Erickson, and Hopwood Middle School’s Charles Guiang.

Girls category

In the girls category, Agape Christian School  bested SIS in a nail-biting battle.

ACS’s Barbara Wang took first place with a time of 00:16’33. School-mates Serena Chen was third  (00:17’16); Esther Xu was sixth (00:19’43); Ruth Zhang, seventh (00:20’49); and Jenny Xu, eighth (00:21’37) to secure first place for Agape.

Saipan International School, which received the silver medal, gave a good fight with Savita Sikkel finishing second with a time of 00:16’57; teammates Phoenix Gross was fourth (00:19’14); Rebecca Eaton, fifth (00:19’22), and Hoo Wang was ninth (00:22’56).

Hopwood’s Shoko Litulumar, MCS’ Andrei Kaitlyn Chavez and Julie Anne Chavez, FMS’ Teneasha Diaz and Nerita Sellem participated as individual runners

For the individual awards, in the boys category Peter Peng took the gold;  Joseph Li, silver; and Casey Chambers, bronze.

Among the girls, Andrei Kaitlyn Chavez finished first overall with a time of 00:14’09 to win the gold. Barbara Wang obtained the silver medal while Savita Sikkel received the bronze.
