Make Your Mark Archery Club on the move

Led by presidents Eileen No and Oliver Lee, 12th graders from Saipan International School, and vice president Soarin Oh, an 8th grader from Dandan Middle School,  the club was formed in mid-October.

“It started when I was looking for sports to start during the pandemic,” Eileen No said. “We also wanted to choose a sport accessible to anyone, and a sport that is a symbolic representation of the culture and history of Saipan.”

The club members are high school and middle school students from Saipan International School, Marianas High School, Grace Christian Academy and Dandan Middle School.

They have created two archery teams as interest among other students continues to grow.

“We are planning to host a tournament in April, but planning for it is extremely rough,” Eileen No said.

The club holds weekly  meetings during which they practice archery and hold mini-competitions.

During one of their recent mini-competitions, Oliver Lee and Kevin Park came out as the top two archers of the day. On a scale of 1-10, with 10 being the bullseye, Lee connected three bullseyes while Park hit seven.

“Mark Your Mark Archery Club will continue to grow and welcome Saipan students who are interested in archery,” Eileen No said.

“We would also like to share our experiences publicly every month through Marianas Variety as we continue to reach out to students or families looking for accessible entertainment during the pandemic.”
