Marianas Eye Institute named ‘best in region’
(Marianas Eye Institute) — In an article published by Retinal Physician magazine, a leading journal for eye specialists, Marianas Eye Institute was named “one of the best-equipped eyecare practices in the Asia-Pacific region.”
“It’s an honor to receive this recognition,” said Russ Quinn, CEO of Marianas Eye Institute. “Over the years we have worked hard to bring outstanding eye care to the people of the Marianas. We have build out reputation on the advanced technologies, and on our talented doctors. To be recognized as one of the best in the region by an international publication such as Retinal Physician magazine is a great honor.”
The doctors of Marianas Eye Institute have also been recognized nationally. Dr. Mark Robertson, a magna cum laude graduate of Pacific University, provides comprehensive medical eye care and vision care. He has received national honors for his research in eye care. Dr. David Khorram, who serves as the CNMI’s only ophthalmologist, is a graduate of Northwestern University, and in addition to his scientific publications, is recognized as a skilled and compassionate surgeon. He is listed in “Guide to America’s Top Ophthalmologists.”
“Technology is vital for healthcare, and this recognition by Retinal Physician magazine as one of the best in Asia-Pacific, gives peace of mind to the people of the CNMI that the best care is available right here on Saipan,” said Quinn.
When asked about the technologies that earned this accolade from Retinal Physician, Quinn explained, “Our technologies really run the full gamut of eye care. For example, most people come to our office for blurred vision, and need glasses. The technology of our in-house optical lab, allows us to make most prescriptions lenses in an hour — even specialty lenses like ‘no-line’ bifocals, and photogrey lenses that get dark when out in the sun.”
