Carter and waived reading of the information.Assistant Attorney General Ronald Ledgerwood appeared on behalf of the government.Chief Justice Arthur Ngiraklsong set a surety bail at $500 and set the status conference for June 27 at 11:15 a.m.The status conference will be heard in chambers in Melekeok.Beketaut was released from the custody after he posted a $500 surety bond.Beketaut was ordered to obey all laws and orders of the court.He was ordered not to leave Palau without permission from the court.The information stated that Beketaut assaulted Ngirchochit Tolengii with a concrete block or a rock on February 8, 2008.The information added that Beketaut damaged the victim’s property by breaking the house two window’s screens.The information stated that Beketaut “did act in a drunk and disorderly manner in a public place in Meyuns after voluntarily using an intoxicating liquor.”The defendant was arrested on February 13 for the said crimes.The affidavit of Bureau of Public Safety officer Jaycar Takataro stated that the victim was sleeping in his house at 2 am when heard a man yelling at his brother outside.The victim saw later defendant threw a concrete block into the windowThe victim told the defendant to leave the premises and to resolve their problem the next day.The defendant got angry and threw another rock into the window, breaking the window’s screen and hitting the victim in the arm.The victim was taken to the hospital for treatment.
