Before the governor read the VFW proclamation, the commander of the color guard detail, Cadet Command Sgt. Maj. Allen Morilla reported to Marine Sgt. Lizama, saying “Good Morning Sergeant, the Colors are present.” Marine Sergeant Lizama then responded with “Post the Color.”

With this command the color guard detail proudly marched to perform the routine of posting the U.S. and CNMI Colors while both the national and CNMI anthems were played.
It was breathtaking to witness the precision of the SSHS’ Color Guard detail, and as a result, the VFW proclamation event hosted by the governor’s office was truly a successful community activity.
