All GCA students win in first forensic virtual competition

Due to Covid-19 situation, almost all of the events were pre-recorded video entries. The only live event for PGFC was Impromptu Speaking via Zoom in which only the competitors and judges could enter the live meeting.

This is a challenging year for the students, coaches, as well as the parents and guardians. Some students were excited to join, but not as many joined this year compared to previous school years. A first-time competitor in kindergarten was nervous when her mom started taking her video, but she got used to it and she even joined the live Impromptu Speaking and won 2nd place.  “Gaby was hesitant to do it because she preferred direct public speaking. She said it is not fun looking at screen, but she loves PGFC.”

GCA coach/coordinator Esther Manzano had minimal practice with the students due to the protocols. She is thankful, though, for the parents who helped in practicing their children at home. Parents sent practice videos to her and she gave pointers for improvements.

PGFC competition encourages public and private school students from kindergarten 5 to fifth grade  to participate in and become proficient in the forensic performing arts: reading, public speaking, and interpretation.

The administration, faculty, staff and parents of Grace Christian Academy would like to extend their congratulations to the following winners who participated in this competition.
