2022 Pacific Mini Games organizing committee formed

The other committee members are Pacific Games Council chief executive officer Andrew Minogue and the governor’s senior policy adviser, Robert Hunter.

For logistics, Saipan Mayor David M. Apatang, Department of Public Works Secretary James Ada and Department of Lands and Natural Resources Secretary Tony Benavente will be in charge.

Handling protocol and security is Department of Public Safety Commissioner Robert A. Guerrero.

Also lending a helping hand are Fire Commissioner Dennis Mendiola and Public Health & Hospital Emergency Preparedness Program Director Warren Villagomez.

Former Rep. Ray Tebuteb will be in charge of sports and will be supported by Education Commissioner Dr. Alfred Ada and Hotel Association of the Northern Mariana Islands chairwoman Gloria Cavanagh who will oversee the Games Village as well as support services and accommodations.

Commissioner Ada will also be in charge of transportation issues while Department of Community and Cultural Affairs acting Secretary Joseph P. Deleon Guerrero will take care of medals and other ceremonies.

The other members of the organizing committee are Finance Secretary David Atalig; John Hirsh of the American Red Cross-NMI Chapter; Ben Babauta, DFS senior general manager for operations; the governor’s authorized representative Patrick Guerrero; and Marianas Visitors Authority Managing Director Priscilla M. Iakopo.

The composition of the organizing committee was announced during a meeting on Friday morning that was attended by Northern Marianas Sports Association president Jerry Tan, NMASA executive director Carline Sablan, Gov. Ralph DLG Torres and Pacific Games Council chief executive officer Andrew Minogue who participated virtually.
