Virtual Women’s Summit set for Sept. 24

The summit is co-sponsored by the CNMI Women’s Association or CWA and the Women’s Affairs Office under the Office of the Governor, in collaboration with community partners from both the public and private sectors.

This year’s theme is “Continuing to Rise: Women Leading Sustainable Development.” Organizers have enlisted dynamic panelists from the community to speak about various topics of relevance to sustainable development.

The virtual summit is part of the 2020 CNMI Women’s Month Celebration, which was held in March 2020. It was originally scheduled for March 27, 2020; however, it had to be postponed because of the pandemic.

The panel discussions planned for this year will focus on disaster recovery, economic growth and development, health, and military buildup.

Through these presentations and discussions, we hope for a better understanding of how the CNMI’s women are leading sustainable development in our islands across the various  sectors.

Furthermore, through the sharing of knowledge in this summit, organizers hope to impart information that would benefit our rising female leaders on how they too can lead the sustainable development of our island nation successfully.
