Fish and Wildlife director’s trial set for Nov. 25

Pangelinan has been charged with driving under the influence, reckless driving, implied consent, and failure to possess a vehicle registration.

In June, Pangelinan pleaded not guilty to the charges.

At the status conference on Wednesday, Pangelinan, represented by attorney Robert T. Torres, requested the court for a trial date, which Judge Govendo granted.

Torres also told the court that discovery and other documentations of the case had already been forwarded to him by the Attorney General’s Office.

According to the traffic citation issued against Pangelinan, he was driving a white 2008 Ford pickup truck in Lower Base when he was pulled over by police.

DUI is punishable by 72 hours’ imprisonment and a fine of $500 and suspension of the privilege to operate a motor vehicle for not less than 30 days nor more than six months.

Reckless driving is punishable by a maximum of $1,000 fine or by imprisonment of not more than six months; the defendant must also attend a course in driver education.
