PSS has requested a $40 million budget, but the administration could propose $20.6 million only for the school system.
The projected revenue available for government appropriations in fiscal year 2021 is $82.6 million.

PSS has stated that it needs at least $37.8 million in order to keep its schools open, as well as to pay for personnel and operational costs.
Chaired by Senate Vice President Jude U. Hofschneider, the committee members are Senate Floor Leader Justo Quitugua, Sens. Francisco Borja, Francisco Cruz, Sixto Igisomar, and Vinnie Sablan.
