School Principal Milagros M. Songcuan warmly welcomed everyone, especially the parents, students and keynote speakers.
As head of a Christian school, she quoted biblical verses and reminded the children to “be obedient to your parents in union with the Lord, for this is righteous.” (Ephesians 6:1).
The keynote speakers were Charito G. Bautista, environmental surveillance laboratory manager of the Bureau of Environmental and Coastal Quality; and Gordon B. Salas, CNMI Childcare Licensing Office supervisor.
The theme was the following quotation from author Shiv Khera: “Your positive action combined with positive thinking results in success.”
The keynote speakers emphasized the relevance of education to the children, how it can change their lives and the community, and how they will benefit from it. They cited examples, which made everyone listen well to their speeches.
Glenn Samuel Songcuan, the school president, made the closing remarks and thanked everyone who made the event successful. He said the recognition program was a fruit of the collaboration among students, parents and teachers.
