The lots are located near the pit along a dirt road going to Laolao Bay. The lots were used as a temporary collection point for green waste in the aftermath of Super Typhoon Yutu.
H.L.B. 21-37 is now Saipan Local Law 21-12.
Vice Speaker Lorenzo I. Deleon Guerrero authored the local bill as recommended by the Commonwealth Zoning Board to amend the Saipan Zoning Law of 2013.
The new local law states that the zoning boards held a public hearing with respect to the district rezones and had transmitted to the Saipan delegation its recommendation based on the evidence presented at the hearing.
Deleon Guerrero said the lots were rezoned because the Department of Public Works plans to open a transfer station in the area and in As Gonno.
