Aldan said SSI recipients need to act by May 5, Tuesday in order to receive additional financial assistance for their eligible children.
By taking the step to enter information on the IRA website, he said SSI recipients will receive $500 for each qualifying dependent child, in addition to the $1,200 individual payment, the mayor said.
In a statement, Aldan said SSI recipients with qualifying dependent children under 17 years old who do not provide their information on the IRA website before May 5 will only receive their $1,200 payment.
“There will be no additional payment for dependent children until they file a 2020 tax return,” he added.
