Saipan Centennial Lions Club president Arceli Lizama takes out a bag of rice from the trunk of her vehicle. She has been distributing food and cash to community members who have lost their jobs because of the Covid-19 crisis.

“Even in my little way I am happy to share my blessings with others,” she said.

This is not the first time that Lizama has provided assistance to those who need help. After Super Typhoon Yutu devasted Saipan and Tinian in Oct. 2018, she distributed food and clothing to typhoon victims.

“I am not giving only to my club members, I also give to others who ask for help,” she said.

In times like this, she added, community members should help each other regardless of ethnicity.
