“All the campuses are very dark at night,” Ada said, adding that break-ins usually happen late in the evening or very early in the morning.
He said he will also ask the Department of Public Safety to help monitor the schools through more frequent patrols.
He said some campuses have security guards while others have security cameras.
“I need the public to know that publics schools have a rule: We do not keep money in the school. All cash collected on campus is always deposited in the bank immediately,” he added
Over the weekend, Hopwood Middle School, Garapan Elementary School, and Dandan Middle School were burglarized or vandalized.
Early this month, a break-in was reported at Marianas High School.
In December, Kagman Elementary School was burglarized.
“As the economy declines, crimes may increase so let’s be ready to fight burglary and vandalism,” Ada said.
