Fifteen to 20 people were screened by the Family Care Clinic medical team in the tent on Wednesday.
Commonwealth Healthcare Corp.-Family Care Clinic medical personnel conduct a screening for people with health concerns in a tent.
Although there were no confirmed cases of Covid-19 on island, Family Care Clinic Medical Director Dr. Elizabeth Kohnen said people who have heart or other health problems “don’t need to avoid the hospital because of fear of being infected.”
She added, “They can still be seen in the hospital which is functioning like it always does.”
As for the “walk-in” tent clinic, Kohnen said it will serve the community from Monday to Friday, from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., and on Saturday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. It is closed on Sunday.

CHCC said, “When a patient screened in the tent is identified as having a low or moderate risk of developing a severe disease, the patient will be asked to return home with instructions to self-quarantine, and how to contact health officials if his or her condition changes.”
Patients who are significantly ill will be sent to designated areas of the hospital where proper precautions against the spread of disease have been implemented and a full evaluation can be performed, CHCC added.
