GOVERNOR Arnold I. Palacios has nominated attorney Bruce L. Jorgensen to the Commonwealth Ports Authority board of directors.
Jorgensen was a member of the new administration’s transition team assigned to CPA.
If confirmed by the Senate, Jorgensen will serve the remaining term of Barrie C. Toves who represented Rota on the CPA board, and whose term will expire on Oct. 7, 2025.
In his appointment letter to Jorgensen, the governor said he and Lt. Gov. David M. Apatang are confident that the lawyer’s many years of service in the private sector and the government will be an asset to the board. He also said that Jorgensen’s willingness to serve the CNMI people is greatly appreciated.
In his letter to Senate President Edith Deleon Guerrero, the governor said he and Apatang are confident in Jorgensen’s ability to carry out the functions and mandates of the CPA board.
The governor respectfully requested the Senate’s favorable action on the nomination.
The governor has also nominated Antonio B. Cabrera to serve the remaining term of former CPA board member Roman Tudela who resigned in January.
Right now, the CPA board is comprised of its chairperson, Kimberlyn King-Hinds, members Pete P. Reyes, Thomas Villagomez, Ramon Tebuteb and Joseph Diaz.
