MP United slip past Shirley’s in intermediate women’s division

THE MP United Football Club remain at the top of the food chain in the Flores-Pee Luwal (Intermediate) Division of the Dove Women’s League after edging Shirley’s Football Club, 1-0, Sunday at the NMI Soccer Training Center, to collect their eighth win of the season.

Both teams were evenly matched throughout most of the match. The first half was filled with a handful of close calls and several shot attempts, but neither team was able to find the back of the net.

In the second half, MPU played more aggressively and eventually broke through SFC’s line of defense with Loriann Rabe firing the game-winning shot  at the 33rd minute mark.

SFC tried hard to tie the score, but MPU defended well to clinch victory, 1-0.

SUFC vs Kanoa

The Southern United Football Club  bagged its eighth win by beating the Kanoa Football Club, 3-1.

After 10 minutes of back-and-forth action, SUFC powered through and scored goals courtesy of Brianne Echalico and Rosie Saralu at the 12th and 14th minute marks to end the first half with the lead, 2-0.

SUFC’s Saralu delivered her second goal of the day to ensure victory at the 36th minute mark, but KNFC’s Jane Malabanan scored 12 minutes later to somewhat ease the pain, 1-3.

Paire vs THFC

The Paire Football Club also tasted  victory by outlasting the Tan Holdings Football Club, 2-1.

PFC established control early after Ferleen Wollak snuck in a goal two minutes into the opening half.

Although THFC equalized early in  the second half thanks to Maria Marphan, PFC’s Sharlette Casil drained the game-winning goal at the 59th minute mark to clinch their fifth win, 2-1.
