Saipan Chamber of Commerce moves golf tourney to June 17

(SCC) — The Saipan Chamber of Commerce would like to inform the community of the new date for its highly anticipated 14th Annual Scholarship Golf Tournament. Due to the weather conditions associated with Typhoon Mawar and other logistical matters, the tournament has been postponed to June 17, 2023. The event, which was originally set for May 27, will still take place at the beautiful Laolao Bay Golf and Resort, West Course, with showtime at 6 a.m. and shotgun at 7 a.m.

The SCC Two-Person Scramble Annual Golf Tournament is an annual fundraising event that provides crucial financial support for the Saipan Chamber Scholarship Program, benefiting local students pursuing higher education and contributing to our community. It serves as a means to provide financial support to college and trade students who face financial shortfalls, enabling them to pursue their educational goals.

“In our last scholarship program, we proudly awarded 17 students from Northern Marianas College and the Northern Marianas Technical Institute. This year, our focus extends beyond community college and trade education to include support for higher education in maritime trade.

“The Saipan Chamber of Commerce is committed to being a catalyst for change and development in our youth, who are our future leaders. None of this would be possible without the unwavering support of our members, sponsors, players, and volunteers. On behalf of the chamber board of directors and executive team, we extend our deepest thanks and gratitude to all those who make it possible for us to support our youth and community.

“We are also thrilled to announce an extension of the player registration deadline to May 31, 2023. Don’t miss out on the opportunity to play golf, network, meet new people, and support a great cause all at once. Register today to secure your spot. You may find a copy of our registration form on our website homepage, www.saipanchamber.com

“Alternatively, you can visit our office conveniently located in the Marianas Business Plaza, 2nd Floor, Suite 201-A, where our friendly team members will be happy to assist you.”
