KANOA Football Club edged Shirley’s Football Club, 1-0,  in the novice division of the Dove Women’s League Fall 2023 on Sunday at the NMI Soccer Training Center in Koblerville. 

Both teams gave it their all, each building momentum with a handful of shot attempts. However, neither was able to score in the first half. 

The back-and-forth battle continued throughout the second half. At the 55th minute mark, Kanoa penetrated Shirley’s defenses, allowing Rose Goddad to deliver the game-winning goal.

 With only minutes left, Shirley’s, which only had six players on the pitch, failed to even the score and had to accept defeat, 0-1.

MP United Football Club 2 slipped past Latte Football Club, 1-0, thanks to a late-game goal by Catalina Dela Cruz at the 49th minute mark while MP United Football Club 1 joined the winner’s circle by silencing Paire Football Club, 5-0. 

MPU 1 started slow but scored a goal in the first half thanks to Deena Sablan.

 In the second half, Sablan took off and added three consecutive goals marked to further stretch MPU 1’s lead. Teammate Marielle Lim then added the icing to the cake with a goal at the 54th minute mark to seal the deal against Paire, 5-0.
