Juanita P. Villanueva
THE Department of Public Safety is seeking the public’s assistance in locating Juanita P. Villanueva, one of the three individuals who, police said, robbed a man at gunpoint in San Antonio on Sunday.
A $50,000 cash bail arrest warrant for Villanueva was signed by Superior Court Associate Judge Wesley Bogdan on Tuesday.
The arrest warrant was issued for the charges of two counts of robbery, conspiracy and theft.
Assistant Chief of Police Simon T. Manacop, the acting DPS public information officer, is reminding the community that anyone who aids or assists a suspect in hiding will be charged with accessory after the fact.
The robbery incident was reported to DPS on Oct. 15, 2023, at about 8:48 p.m.
DPS said the victim was robbed while in a vehicle parked at the San Antonio Beach behind the FMS Middle School.
According to DPS, the victim claimed that a female known to him had called him earlier asking to buy cellphone load for her. The victim had agreed to purchase the load and meet the female in the parking lot of the Pacific Islands Club. Both later parked at the San Antonio beachside. The female later demanded money, which the victim claimed he did not have.
“A few minutes later a vehicle parked behind the victim’s vehicle. Two persons approached the vehicle on the driver’s side and began demanding money from the victim. The persons were described [as] a male and a female. When the victim told them that he did not have money, the male suspect pointed a handgun to the victim’s head and again demanded money. The victim then took out his wallet, which the female suspect grabbed. At the same time, the known female who was inside the vehicle with the victim, grabbed the victim’s Samsung Galaxy cellphone and the key to his vehicle. She then exited the car and got into the suspect’s vehicle described as a dark colored SUV.”
All three suspects fled the scene.
The victim said he was later able to start his vehicle and drove to the Pacific Islands Club where he reported the incident. The victim was unharmed.
DPS said suspects stole the victim’s wallet containing $300 in cash, a CNMI driver’s license, a Discover credit card and a Bank of Hawaii debit card.
“The two other suspects have not been identified yet,” Manacop said.
As of Wednesday evening, no new information about the case had been provided by DPS.
