No Excuse’s Byron Kaipat is the Regular Season MVP, the Runs Scored Champ, and the Homerun Champ.
LAMARC Iguel and Byron Kaipat were named the playoff and regular season Most Valuable Players, respectively, at the conclusion of the 2023 Budweiser Belau Amateur Softball Association Open League on Sunday at the Dandan baseball field.
In the three-game championship finale, the Aimeliik Bat Boyz were the underdogs, but with Lamarc Iguel’s strength behind the bat, they managed to upset the favored Just4Fun by hitting a total of five homeruns and 10 RBIs to claim the coveted title.
Sharing the spotlight was No Excuse’s Byron Kaipat who displayed consistency throughout the entire season to earn the title of Regular Season MVP.
Other outstanding players were recognized for their individual performances.
No Excuse’s Kimo Angailen and Just4Fun’s Tony Salas shared the Batting Champ award for going 30 for 38 with a .789 average.
Byron Kaipat collected two other awards — Runs Scored Champ with a total of 32 and Homerun Champ with a total of 19.
Kebruka’s Mario Salas was named the Doubles Champ with a total of seven while Mamaaw’s Ze Lifoifoi was the RBI Champ with a total of 41.
Among the pitchers, Aimeliik Bat Boyz’s Luis Iguel won the Earned Run Average title with a 7.411 ERA while Saipal’s Dominic Hideo was the Strike Out Champ with a total of 31.
