LIEUTENANT Gov. David M. Apatang, in his capacity as acting governor on Thursday last week, resubmitted the nomination of businessman Roland Johnson to the Northern Marianas Technical Institute board of trustees.
Apatang earlier withdrew the nomination because the Senate did not have ample time to act on it.
In his letter to Senate President Edith Deleon Guerrero, Apatang said Johnson, if confirmed by the senators, will represent businesses on Saipan and serve a four-year term that expires on March 11, 2027.
Apatang said he and Gov. Arnold I. Palacios are confident that Johnson’s leadership will execute the mandates of the NMTech board of trustees.
Apatang respectfully requests the Senate’s favorable action on Johnson’s nomination.
In his appointment letter to Johnson, Apatang said he and the governor are eager to work collaboratively with the NMTech board to accomplish their administration’s goals and objectives in developing the Commonwealth’s career, trades and technical training programs.
