Mommyla Spa & Salon hairstylist Sharmaine Casquero gives a boy a haircut during the back-to-school free hair cut event organized by the Saipan Magahaga Lady Eagles Group at the Minatchom Atdao pavilion on Aug. 20, 2023.
THE back-to-school free haircut event that the Saipan Magahaga Lady Eagles Group organized on Saipan last month will also be held on Rota and Tinian.
This time, the office of Rota Rep. Julie Ogo is sponsoring the free haircut sessions on Rota for children 5 to 18 years old. It will be held on Sunday, Sept. 17, 2023, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., at the Division of Youth Services Youth Center grounds.
Due to high transportation cost, however, only three hairstylists from Saipan can fly to Rota. They are Sharmaine Casquero of Mommyla Spa & Salon, Michelle Caleon of Perfect Image and Barbie Maliorde of Barbie Beauty.
Saipan Magahaga Lady Eagles Vice President Maria Aileen Arnold said they have also met with leaders of Tinian who want to hold a back-to-school free haircut event next week.
Arnold said the free haircut session they held on Saipan last month was so successful it caught the attention of Rota and Tinian leaders.
She said on behalf of the Saipan Magahaga Lady Eagles Group, she wants to thank the Rota and Tinian officials for giving the Lady Eagles an opportunity to make their community event CNMI-wide.
