2023 Island Summer Auto Fest winners

THE 2023 Island Summer Auto Fest came to a conclusion on Sept. 9, with some of the island’s hottest rides taking home top honors across a variety of categories.

The biggest winner of them all was Russel Hocog and Team Exotic’s 2007 Toyota Rumion, which earned the Best of Show.

Team Exotic/Exotic Minis were awarded 12 trophies in various award categories, earning them the Best Club award.

Derek Reyes’ 2017 Mitsubishi Lancer was the winner of the Triple J Motors Brand award.

Ryan Li’s 2020 Honda Civic Type R earned him the Joeten Motors Brand award.

And Kolton Bronx Ada’s 2003 Lexus LS430 earned him the AK Motors Brand award.

The other winners:

In the Sound Off Competition, 1st Place Jhune Echaure’s 2017 Hyundai Tucscon, with a decibel reading of 143.22; 2nd place Jacob Malonzo’s 2004 Toyota Corolla with a decibel reading of 142.36; and Jathan Babauta’s 2019 Honda Civic Type R with a decibel reading of 141.00.

VIP style winners were 1st place Mia Le’alani’s 2007 Toyota Rumion; 2nd place JT Ada’s 2002 Lexus GS 300; and 3rd place Kolton Ada’s 2003 Lexus LS430.

In the 2 Door Category, top finishers were 1st place Mark “Shark” Caacbay’s 1997 Honda Civic Hatchback; 2nd place Bradon Torres’ 200 Honda Civic Hatchback; and Sirena Santos’ 2020 Honda Civic SI.

In the 4 Door Category, winners were 1st place Jeffrey Riman’s 2007 Honda Civic FD2; 2nd place Chris Meyers’ 2018 Infiniti Q50S; and 3rd place Derek Reyes’ 2017 Mitsubishi Lancer.

Juanito “Jun” Sambile’s 2013 Honda Ruckus was the 1st place winner in the Scooter/Moped category, with Russel Hocog’s 2018 Honda Grom in 2nd place, and Jeff Tomokane’s 2021 Kawasaki Z125 in 3rd place.

Nathaniel Torres won 1st place with a 2007 Harley Davidson Deluxe in the Cruiser Bike category; Angel Reyes was the 2nd place winner with a 2017 Harley Davidson Breakout; and Noelle Reyes was 3rd place with a 2020 Harley Davidson Iron 883N.

Mark Oria won the Cafe Bikes category with a 2016 Motoguzzi.

In the Trucks category, the top winner was Joey Panglinan’s 2012 Toyota Tacoma Access Cab. Second place was Justin Muna’s 1978 Toyota Pickup, and 3rd place was Juan Pocaigue’s 1988 Toyota Hilkux.

The 4X4 winners were 1st place Peter “Dung” Tenorio’s 2022 Ford Bronco; 2nd place David Cruz’s 2003 Toyota Tacoma; and 3rd place Jordan Mendiola’s 2021 Toyota Tacoma.
