Blue Jays power past Dat’s It, 18-7

THE Blue Jays played consistently well to beat Dat’s It, 18-7, in the 2023 Budweiser Belau Amateur Softball Association Open League on Sunday at the Dandan baseball field. 

The Blue Jays entered the ball game swinging with Kyle Foreman acting as the sparkplug by connecting a triple and safely reaching home off Kier Agda’s RBI single.

Agda also rounded the bases as Austin Piteg followed up with a two-run homer to further extend the gap, 3-0.

Dat’s It tried to catch up, but were only allowed one run via sacrifice fly from RJ Cruz, bringing home Jon Welson.

The Blue Jays’ lead only grew as they added five more runs in the top of the second inning led by Agda’s 2-run homer. Dat’s It, for their part, could only score one run to trail 2-8. 

Dat’s It managed to slow down the Blue Jays’ offensive push  by allowing  two runs only in the top of the third inning. Dat’s It, however, failed to score during their turn at bat.

In the fourth inning, the Blue Jays delivered four runs highlighted by EJ Cabrera’s 3-run homer.

Dat’s It returned fire with three runs led by JD and Kaipo Dikito’s solo homeruns, but they were still down 5-14. 

The Blue Jays’ James Salalila  then went into a scoring spree with a three-run homer while Willie Cabrera squeezed in an RBI single to make it 18-5.

Dat’s It tried to stay alive but could only add two more runs before the Blue Jays sealed the deal in five innings, 18-7.

Other games

Mamaaw also earned an early victory as they eased past TuTuRamz, 14-4, while Payday Hao dismantled Team Mac, 18-3.
