Saipan International School remains on top of elementary cross country

Elementary school students clear the final leg of week 2 of the PSS/NMA All School Cross Country SY23-24 on Saturday at  American Memorial Park.

SAIPAN International School still rules the elementary category of the PSS/NMA All School Cross Country SY23-24 after topping the second weekly race held Saturday at American Memorial Park. 

In the boys division, SIS Jeffrey Pangelinan finished first with a time of 06:32.50. In second place was Grace Christian Academy’s Beau Bauer with a time of 06:33.75 while San Vicente Elementary School’s Byron Cruz came in third with a time of 06:36.83. 

Pangelinan’s first-place finish was enough to put SIS at the top of the team standings with a total of 27 points followed by SVS with 39 points; Brilliant Star School with 55; Mount Carmel School with 71; Agape Christian School with 89; Saipan Community School with 93; Grace Christian Academy School with 136; Gregorio T. Camacho Elementary School with 161; and Oleai Elementary School with 163. 

In cross country, the team with the lowest total score tops the meet.

SIS also ruled the girls division. 

BSS’ Lovell Spaeth finished first with a time of 06:32.75, but SIS’s Kaylen Taflinger and Windsor Gross came in second and third at 06:41.87 and  07:11.39. 

In the girls team standings, SIS leads with a total of 18 points followed by MCS with 61; BSS with 63; GTC with 90; GCA with 114; SCS with 114; SVS with 137; OES with 143; and William S. Reyes Elementary School with 162.
