GOVERNOR Arnold I. Palacios on Wednesday nominated local businessman Jose C. Ayuyu; retired U.S. Army Command Sgt. Maj. Dolores P. Kiyoshi and Department of Fire and Emergency Medical Services Deputy Commissioner Steve Mesngon to the Commonwealth Ports Authority board of directors.
If confirmed by the Senate, Ayuyu and Kiyoshi will serve staggered terms expiring on Oct. 7, 2027, while Mesngon will serve the remaining term of Rota’s Barrie C. Toves that will expire on Oct. 7, 2025.
Ayuyu will fill the seat that will be vacated by board member Pete P. Reyes of Saipan on Oct. 24, 2023, while Kiyoshi will replace CPA Board Chairwoman Kimberlyn King-Hinds of Tinian whose term will also expire on Oct. 24, 2023.
In his appointment letter to Kiyoshi, the governor said he and Lt. Gov. David M. Apatang are confident that she is qualified and will be an asset on the important board.
To Mesngon, the governor said he and the lt. governor are confident that his many years of service with the private sector and the government will be an asset to the board.
As for Ayuyu, the governor said he and Apatang are confident that the businessman is qualified and will devote his time and efforts to represent the interest of the community on the important board.
