TRENCH Tech and Gatorade will hold a Påtgon Jiu Jitsu Fundraiser Tournament on Saturday, Oct. 7, at the Ada gym from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
“This is to help raise money in assisting our competition kids with travel expenses to Guam for the biannual Påtgon Jiu Jitsu tournament held every April and October,” said Trench Tech founder Cuki Alvarez. This will be their third time competing in the event.
The fundraiser tournament will feature over 30 children from 5 to 13 years old. They will compete in seven different weights classes: Peewee 1 (40lbs-50lbs), Peewee 2 (51lbs-65lbs), Peewee 3 (66lbs-90lbs), Peewee 4 (91lbs-115lbs), Kids 1 (116lbs-125lbs), Kids 2 (126lbs-160lbs), and Absolute (161lbs-200lbs).
“I just want to thank all the parents for supporting and encouraging their kids to compete in Jiu Jitsu, locally and abroad; to the Ada Gym for allowing us to use their beautiful facility; all the generous donors who gave monetarily or in kind; and to Pacific Trading for sponsoring the kids with Gatorade!” Alvarez said. “Also, we will be having some boxing and kickboxing matches during the half-time entertainment and raffling out numerous prizes. We will also be selling food and drinks the whole day.”
The spectator fee is $20 for adults and $10 for kids.
Please do not bring any outside food or drinks.
