Governor nominates Tania David to CEDA board

GOVERNOR Arnold I. Palacios has nominated Tania Sophia P. David to represent Saipan on the Commonwealth Economic Development Authority board of directors.

In his nomination letter to David on Aug. 9, the governor said he and Lt. Gov. David M. Apatang are confident that she, David, will uphold the mandate and goals of CEDA to further stimulate economic activity in the Commonwealth.

David is vice president and branch manager of the Bank of Guam on Saipan.

“Your willingness to serve our people is greatly appreciated,” the governor told David.

In his letter to Senate President Edith Deleon Guerrero, the governor “respectfully” requested her “favorable action on this nomination.” He said he and the lt. governor are confident that David is qualified and will be an asset “on this important board.”

If confirmed by the Senate, David will serve the remaining term of Joaquin Q. Dela Cruz that will expire on Sept. 25, 2025.

Earlier this month, the Senate confirmed the nomination of Daniel Taitano to represent Rota on the CEDA board.

The Senate president, for her part, has referred to the Senate Committee on Executive Appointments and Government Investigations the CEDA board nominations of former Public Auditor Michael S. Sablan, former Bureau of Environmental and Coastal Quality Administrator Frank Rabauliman, and Frank Lee SN Borja.
